Advanced Practice Registered Nurses

APRNs are required to complete one of the following methods to renew their license every 2 years.

• 15 contact hours of general continuing education + 5 contact hours on pharmacotherapeutics related to their specialty
  • 2 of the 5 contact hours of pharmacotherapeutics must be on maintaining
    professional boundaries and the prescribing rules, regulations, and laws
    that apply to APRNs in Arkansas.
  • This mandatory course is provided by the ASBN and can be found here.
  • 1 additional contact hour must be on prescription use and abuse for those with prescriptive authority. (one-time requirement)
