Course Overview
Author: R.E. Hengsterman, MSN, RN
This course will explore epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment options for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), with a focus on surgical techniques and post-operative recovery. Learners will gain an understanding of how to manage CTS from initial diagnosis through to recovery, while adapting care to meet the unique needs of each client.
The course emphasizes evidence-based diagnostic techniques, including physical assessments and electrodiagnostic testing, and guides participants in differentiating CTS from other potential nerve pathologies. Participants will learn to assess when surgical intervention is necessary and how to select the appropriate technique, whether open or endoscopic, considering client-specific factors.
