Course Outcomes
After completing this course, the learner will rate a 4 out of 5 on the Likert Scale for their ability to:
- Identify ways that people of minority races experience healthcare differently than white patients.
- List risk factors associated with a higher prevalence of mental health diagnoses.
- Understand the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia.
- List three clinical symptoms of Lewy body dementia.
- Discuss the different forms of domestic abuse and provide examples of each
- Have an increased understanding of the history of HIV and how the stigma around the disease developed and is being combated today.
- Identify risk factors and prevention strategies for HIV.
- Define risk management in the context of healthcare, explaining its importance and necessity for ensuring patient safety, preserving organizational reputation, achieving accreditation, and securing reimbursements.
- Explain the process for hospital ER admission.
