There are still many barriers for individuals seeking gender-affirming care. From state legislation, discrimination and ignorance of providers, the list goes on. Nurses have a duty to provide objective education and compassionate care to patients. To do this, one must set aside one’s own biases regarding gender-affirming care. This course will focus on the many options out there for hormone therapy available to transgender patients, monitoring guidelines and other recommendations.
