As of January 1, 2025, all Illinois nurses (LPN, RN, and APRN) are required to obtain Cultural Competency training to practice in the state. Why is Cultural Competency training so important? This course will introduce the broad definition of culture and highlight Cultural Competency and its importance. This course will also outline the new law affecting all nurses in Illinois. If your license will expire on or after January 1, 2025, taking this course meets the new continuing education requirement.
