- Understand the pathophysiology of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract and list examples of underlying conditions that cause gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Discuss signs and symptoms of constipation.
- Identify ways nurses can help patients with spinal cord injuries start a bowel and bladder regimen.
- Identify the six stages of pressure injuries based on National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel guidelines.
