In this course, the learner will become familiar with the role that home care plays in the treatment of individuals with HIV/AIDS, including how the RN can work closely with the client to develop a care plan that meets their needs at whatever stage of their HIV/AIDS journey they may be at.

Course Outcomes

  1. Develop an in-home plan of care for the various disciplines of the care team to address multiple issues the client may have 
  2. Understand the physical and emotional aspects of the disease and the interventions needed to assist the client and family members.  
  3. Explain how treating the client in their home can contribute to the prevention of complications that can escalate to hospitalization.
