Course Outcomes

1. Define types of human trafficking, trends, and statistics within the United States and the State of Michigan.
2. State the federal and Michigan laws surrounding human trafficking and the obligations of healthcare workers to report and offer assistance.
3. Understand implicit bias and explore their own subconscious or internal biases and opinions. 
4. Explain ways that implicit biases can negatively impact clients in minority groups. 
5. Identify contributing factors and consequences of the opioid crisis in the United States.
6. Define pain, including pathophysiology, stages, types, and risk factors.
7. Understand basic infection control practices and how to apply them.
8. Understand sepsis and the core elements of sepsis treatment and recognition.
