Neurotoxin injections for clinical use were developed in the 1970s and continue to be used today for various therapeutic needs, including the treatment of muscle spasticity. Nurses may participate in the procedure of administering these injections and should also be knowledgeable about the medications that are used and how they affect spasticity.
