Course Overview

This course will provide an overview of the newly approved nonopioid pain medication suzetrigine. It will discuss the importance of pain management, along with older pain management medications (including opioids) and other non-pharmaceutical techniques. Suzetrigine will be thoroughly reviewed regarding its mechanism of action and pharmacology, indications, side effects, efficacy, and clinical trial data. Finally, nursing considerations for patient care and ongoing research will be reviewed.
