Course Overview

This course will guide nurses on how to teach clients with diabetes about the influence specific foods have on blood sugar levels. Focusing on practical dietary changes, this course will provide a better insight into carbohydrate counting, the glycemic index, and nutrition’s role in diabetes management. When focused on client education, nurses are better able to guide their clients in the direction of making better dietary choices, which in turn improve blood glucose levels and overall outcomes. This course is intended for nurses of all levels who already have a basic understanding of diabetes and the diabetic diet.
