Course Overview

Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common diagnosis among pediatric patients. Due to a shortage of psychiatric services for children and adolescents, nurse practitioners are becoming increasingly responsible for managing these patients. This course will review the clinical criteria for diagnosing and treating ADHD, describe the pharmacokinetics, prescribing guidelines, adverse effects, and warnings associated with therapeutic medications, identify alternative therapies, and summarize newer medications and upcoming research.
