Course Overview

This course is an overview of medications used to manage behaviors or mood disturbances often associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Learners will explore the purpose of medications, common symptoms associated with medication use, medical implications on quality of life, and ASD medication management and research. This course will also discuss method of actions associated with these medications and the nurses’ role in ASD medication, education, andsoc management. This course is intended for advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs).
