Accreditation Statement

Nursing CE Central LLC is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

In this course, we will discuss APRN courses pertinent to renewal in Puerto Rico. It will take the average learner 1200 minutes to complete and awards 20 contact hours of continuing education.

Course Outcomes

After completing this course, the learner will rate a 4 out of 5 on the Likert Scale for their ability to:

1. Discuss the importance of bioethics in nursing practice.
2. Understand basic infection control practices and how to apply them.
3. Understand different strategies of caregiving related to Alzheimer’s disease and ways to manage various aspects of behavioral changes of a patient with Alzheimer’s.
4. Describe the pathophysiology of Lewy body dementia.
5. Identify what behavior constitutes sexual harassment.
6. Discuss the different forms of domestic abuse and provide examples of each.
7. Have an increased understanding of the history of HIV and how the stigma around the disease developed and is being combated today.
8. Describe commonly prescribed opioids for pain management and understand their side effects and indications of use.
