Course Outcomes

After completing this course, the learner will rate a 4 out of 5 on the Likert Scale for their ability to:

  1. List and explain the most common abused substances.
  2. Understand the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia.
  3. List types of wounds that negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) may be used to treat.
  4. Identify nutrient deficiencies that will impact wound healing.
  5. Understand the different types of ostomies and their care techniques.
  6. Define the 2 main types of diabetes and the preferred approach used to treat each of the identified disease processes.
  7. Differentiate between hospice and palliative care.
  8. Define important stages of the dying process.
