This course is designed for LPNs, RNs, and APRNs to enhance their role in promoting smoking cessation and improving patient outcomes. Participants will explore the history and health impacts of tobacco use, the pathophysiology of nicotine addiction, and evidence-based strategies for supporting patients in quitting. Topics include patient assessment, counseling, pharmacological treatments, and behavioral interventions. The course also addresses disparities in smoking rates, emerging research, and the nurse’s role in implementing personalized, holistic care.
