Course Overview

Designed for LPN/LVNs, RNs, and APRNs, this course is designed to educate nurses regarding Spinal Fusion Surgery and postoperative care. We will examine different low back pain (LBP) types, severe traumatic spinal cord injuries, conservative measures, and what leads to spinal fusion surgery.

We will also discuss the costs of LBP and fusion, the amount of disability of this cohort of clients, and, most importantly, the nurse’s role in post-op care. Finally, we will look at newer methods and ongoing research for Spinal Fusion Surgery.
