Course Overview

This course is an overview of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), a type of pharmaceutical drug class used for the management of major depressive disorder (MDD). Learners will explore the purpose of SSRIs, common symptoms associated with SSRI use, SSRI implications on quality of life, and SSRI research. This course will also discuss methods of action associated with SSRIs and the nurse’s role in SSRI education and management.
