Course Overview

This course will delve into all things venous thromboembolism (VTE). VTE is the umbrella term that includes both deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and resulting pulmonary embolism (PE). The high prevalence of VTE and its implications will be presented, so that the learner can gain perspective on the importance of prophylaxis. The pathophysiology of VTEs will be reviewed, as well as the current best practices for prevention and treatment.
