Requirements

APRNs are required to maintain national certification.

APRNs with prescriptive authority must comply with the following each renewal period:
  • 15 contact hours on pharmacotherapeutics, clinical application, and use of pharmacological agents in the prevention of illness, and in the restoration and maintenance of health (for CNPs, CNSs, and CNMs)
  • 2 contact hours on pain management OR opioid use and addiction (for CNPs, CNSs, and CNMs)
