Now that you know what to look for, are you interested in what some of the best brands are?

Of course you are, check out our “Best Nursing Stethoscopes“ blog, and we’ll give you all the details!

Scrubs

This is a given.

Whether your facility or practice has already given you a couple of pairs or not, make sure that you take the time to find extra scrubs that are comfortable on you, as you will be wearing them for several hours each day.

It is safe to say that a great pair of scrubs can wind up being one of the most expensive nursing accessories that you own, but quality, comfort, and durability are everything.

As you may know, every hospital is different in its uniform requirements. Most hospitals require solid colors to be worn on scrubs, and some also require specific colors. Once you find out what your facility requires, check out some of my favorites scrub brands:

Shoes

Board-certified podiatrists at the Cincinnati Foot & Ankle Care clinic highlight several holistic health benefits of wearing supportive, comfortable shoes for long periods of time, take a look!

  • Keeps your body aligned properly
  • Provides relief from body pain
  • Protects against ankle and foot issues
  • Improves performance

Some of my favorite shoes to wear are HOKA, ASICS, On, and the ole tried and true, Dansko

Smartwatches and Activity Trackers

Smartwatches are a great way to keep up with your daily steps, heart rate, and so much more; not to mention, it allows you the chance to leave your phone in your work bag and not have to worry about it!

I have had my Apple Watch: Series 4 for several years, and I love it! It is durable, waterproof, and stays charged all day. If you have the chance to get your hands on one, I strongly recommend it! It also comes with interchangeable bands.

A few other popular smartwatches and fitness trackers are Fitbit and the Samsung Smartwatch!

Badge Reels

As mentioned in our “Nursing Graduation Gifts: What’s The Best for Your New Grad?” blog, we covered how a creative, fun, and unique badge reel can add a touch of your personality and interests into your daily look!

When I was working in the ICU, I would always find my reels on Etsy; they make them personalized with your name, favorite color, specialty and more!

Remember, a badge reel is just another way to let your personality shine!

Bags

A good work bag is not only one of the best nursing accessories, but also a nursing necessity!

It’s the holder of all things; your lunch, water bottle, planner, snacks, pens, highlighters, sharpies, penlights, stethoscopes, gum, the random flyer from your staff meeting two years ago…you know, the essentials.

Here are some of my favorite bags that I recommend you check out:

I hope your wish list is filling up with all of these amazing nursing accessories! Remember, you never have to compromise your style or comfort for a durable product!
