1. What are the continuing education requirements for the 2024 Indiana nursing license renewal? 

The Indiana Board of Nursing does not require continuing education for LPNs or RNs at this time.

APRNs with prescriptive authority must complete 30 contact hours of continuing education every two years, including:

4. When is the 2025 Indiana nursing license renewal deadline?

LPNs have until Oct. 31, 2026, to renew their license. RNs and APRNs have until Oct. 31, 2025, to renew their license.

There is a $50 renewal fee. If you do not renew by these dates, you will incur a $50 late fee.

5. Is Nursing CE Central an Indiana Board of Nursing-approved provider?

Yes.

6. Do nurses have to keep documentation proving they completed their required CEUs?

Yes. It’s recommended that nurses retain CE certificates for at least three years in case of a random audit or disciplinary investigation from the board.

7. How can I renew my license with the Indiana Board of Nursing?

Indiana nurses can renew their license online through the Indiana Licensing Enterprise.

8. How can I check that my renewal application is complete?

You can check your application status online through the Indiana Licensing Enterprise. Allow seven to 10 business days for the board to process your application.

9. What happens if I don’t renew my license before its current expiration date?

Your license will be considered expired, and you will have to pay a $50 late fee. You cannot practice in the state of Indiana with an expired license.

 If you took no action to renew your nursing license before the 2024 deadline, your license is now expired. You must apply for renewal and pay the $50 late fee.

LNPs will renew their licenses at MyLicense One, while RNs and APRNs will renew through the Indiana Licensing Enterprise.
