LPNs and RNs are required to complete 20 contact hours of Continuing Education every 2 years.
1 of the 20 contact hours must be on sexual harassment
1 of the 20 contact hours must be an evidence-based implicit bias in healthcare training
1 of the 20 contact hours must be in diagnosis, treatment and care of Alzheimer’s disease, along with other dementia types (for LPNs and RNs that care for patients aged 26 or older).
LPNs and RNs working with children must complete mandated reporter training every 6 years. Training is located here.
1 of the 20 contact hours must be in cultural competency (starting with renewals on or after January 1st 2025).
APRNs are required to complete 80 contact hours of Continuing Education every 2 years.

20 of the 80 contact hours must be on pharmacotherapeutics
10 of the 20 pharmacotherapeutic contact hours must be on opioid prescribing or substance abuse
3 of the 80 contact hours must be on safe opioid prescribing practices if wishing to renew controlled substances registration
1 of the 80 contact hours must be in diagnosis, treatment and care of Alzheimer’s disease, along with other dementia types (for APRNs that care for patients aged 26 or older).
